Connectional Giving

Our United Methodist Connection and Promotion of Giving is one of the areas covered by the training program.

All things come from God, and of God’s own have we given God. - adapted from 1 Chronicles 29:14b

The purpose of this training is to enable every United Methodist church to participate fully in the United Methodist connection by paying 100 percent of its apportionments

and contributing to the designated funds of The United Methodist Church.

Through the training, lay and clergy members will be able to interprets, promote and advocate full support of apportioned giving and understand the importance of our connectional giving.

Our United Methodist connection enables us to do more together than we could do alone.

When a need touches our hearts, we want to give. The church should share stories of need and provide an opportunity for people to help.

As Christians and members of The United Methodist Church, we are called to be generous, cheerful givers.

This training will help us show others how Together We Can.

United Methodist Communications and the Northwest Texas Conference will be working together to bring this and a variety of training opportunities to the churches within NWTX Conference.

The Communications Ministry Training Program is a partnership of United Methodist Communications and the Annual Conferences of The United Methodist Church. Together, we will bring training to local churches in seven areas: Local Church Communications, Web Ministry, Our United Methodist Connection and Promotion of Giving, Rethink Church, Media Spokesperson and Crisis Communications, Welcoming and Local Church Marketing.

The Conference Communications Offi ce will be working to put together a training team that will be available to conduct trainings throughout the Conference. We will

be seeking requests for the various trainings and will work with districts to determine where and when to conduct trainings.
