Web Ministry

Communications Ministry Training Program will bring training in seven areas to you. In addition to Rethink Church and Welcoming Congregations explained in previous columns, training will be available for local church marketing, local church communications, media spokesperson and crisis communication, connectional giving and web ministry.

The Internet continues to be a primary source of information.

Having a presence on the world wide web is a must in today’s society. From custom designed websites to free templates and opportunities, there is a way for your church to be on the web.

Find-A-Church through United Methodist Communications is a free way to get information of church on the web. Churches may include a photo, service times, location and information about ministries available at the church.

The UM Portal through United Methodist Reporter also provides web services for local churches. No matter the budget, there is a way for your church to be part of the Internet.

Having a web ministry is important, but a church must consider what the purpose of its web ministry will be as well as making sure that the ministry will be maintained and viable.

Web ministry training is among the trainings to be offered through the Communications Ministry Training Program.

United Methodist Communications and the Northwest Texas Conference will be working together to bring a variety of training opportunities including Rethink Church to the churches within NWTX Conference.

The Communications Ministry Training Program is a partnership of United Methodist Communications and the Annual Conferences of The United Methodist Church. Together, we will bring training to local churches in seven areas: Local Church Communications, Web Ministry, Our United Methodist Connection and Promotion of Giving, Rethink Church, Media Spokesperson and Crisis Communications, Welcoming and Local Church Marketing.

The Conference Communications Offi ce will be working to put together a training team that will be available to conduct trainings throughout the Conference. We will be seeking requests for the various trainings and will work with districts to determine where and when to conduct trainings.

Highlights from the various trainings will be included in the NWTX Review and on the Conference website, www.nwtx.org. Information about training sessions will be shared as it becomes available.
