KISS
(Keeping Innocents Safe and Sound)

District Mission Project

We have been in contact with Child Protective Services in our district areas to help meet some needs of children who have sadly been taken away from their homes due to various circumstances.  Most of these children, as we understand, are taken from their homes with little to nothing of their own.  We would like to help these difficult situations in some small way and call this worthwhile mission "KISS" (Keeping Innocents Safe and Secure).

Basically, we will be placing new items, (toiletries, small stuffed animals, socks, etc.) in ziploc bags with a card inside denoting the age-level the bag is intended for.  We have a list of appropriate items to place in these bags for the following ages:  Newborn – 2 years; Ages 2 to 4 years; Ages 5 – 10 years, and  10 years and up.  It is our hope that these bags can be put together at the District Annual Meeting in the fall and then distributed to the CPS offices located around the Big Spring District.  These bags will be easy to store in those offices and would then be readily available for the CPS officers to hand to a child upon removal from his/her home.  The contents of the bags will then become the personal property of the child to whom it is given.
