Our Shared Ministries

8 And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that by always having enough of everything, you may share abundantly in every good work.
2 Corinthians 9:8 (NRSV)
As we gather together each week to celebrate the gift of God’s love, we do it as a community of faith, a covenant community of deep faith and purpose. We literally and figuratively join hands across our connected congregations to help all of God’s children whenever and wherever we can…just as Jesus multiplied the loaves and fishes when the crowd grew hungry.
2 Bear one another’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.
Galatians 6:2 (NRSV)
So we United Methodists come together, as Christ taught, to lift a common burden. And by joining hands across our connected congregations, we achieve far, far more than we ever could as individuals or as a single congregation. Powered by the multiplier effect of connectional giving, our efforts reach people right here at home and around the world.
We United Methodists believe giving is an act of thanksgiving and worship, so we send our missionaries – and ourselves – into the world to spread the good news, feed the hungry, shelter the homeless and help God’s children everywhere.
So, as we, together, to share in God’s abundance, remember: generosity of spirit doesn’t flow from the amount of money you have. It flows from the amount of love you have received.
