Camp Volunteer Application Process

Before beginning the Volunteer Registration process, have the following information available: your contact information, three references' contact information and a form of payment i.e. credit card or voucher code. The Volunteer Fee for each camp is $90.

The following are the age requirements for a volunteer at the time of the camp:

*Grades 3-6: Junior volunteer must be at least 16-years-old and supervised by an adult.

*Grades 7-8: Junior volunteers must be at least 17-years-old.

*Grades 9-12: No junior volunteers at all.

All adult volunteers must be at least 18-years-old and one year out of high school.

Voucher codes must be approved and obtained from the Conference Office. A church's GCFA code must be obtained from the church and used if the church will be paying for the volunteers fee. Type in the voucher code as VC######. Invoices will be billed to the church at the end of July and churches will need to send the check in by the end of August.  If the church does not pay the fee, the volunteer is responsible for that fee.

  • Volunteer Application Steps:

*Please Note: A volunteer must complete each step completely before it allows you to move to the next step. The registration process will only successfully complete from a computer. iPads and iPhones are not completely compatible with the system's data base and therefore will not successfully complete your registration.

  • Begin 30 days before the first camp you want to attend.

This includes all speakers, musicians, staff and crew. Every volunteer must go through the complete application process every year.

  • Open the Application Link

After opening the application link, you will be able to create a user name and password to create your account. Password must qualify as "strong" to continue. If you remember your user name from last year, you can reopen your account with your password or click forgot password. If you do not remember your user name or if your old one does not work, please create a new application account.

  • Step 1: Application Form

Potential volunteer must fill out the registration form. Anything in blue text is required information.

  • Step 2: Select Camps

Select the camp or camps you plan to attend and complete the payment for those camps either with a credit card, through paypal, a voucher code or your church's GCFA code typed in as VC#####. Potential volunteers do not have the option to make a partial payment. You will have to arrange to be reimbursed by the church or you will have to pay the church.

If using a GCFA number, place a tick in the box indicating that the church pastor or treasurer has agreed to this payment otherwise you will be held responsible for the payment.

  • Step 3-5: Three References

Three references are required in order to complete the application, 2 professional references (teachers, pastor, youth pastor) and one personal (friend). Please have your references' contact information available and let them know they will be receiving an email.

  • Step 6: Background Check Authorization Form

Type in the word YES in the box provided in order for your background check to be ordered. All volunteers are required to pass a background check in order to participate in a camp. The results of the check are completed within 48 hours with the results being distributed to the appropriate persons. We cannot accept results from a different work or volunteer opportunity. If a background check clearly disqualifies a candidate, he or she will be informed by email. If there are items in the background check that are not immediate dis-qualifiers but raise concern, the volunteer will be reviewed by a team including members of the conference camping executive team and a conference staff person.

  • Step 7: Child Protection Training

Child Protection Training will be sent as a link to your email. Once you click the link, you will be asked to enter your first name, last name and email address. After entering this information, you will be sent an invite to training from Protect My Ministry Program. A grade of 70% must be obtained to pass the state requirements. After completion, print your certificate and bring it to camp. If you completed your training in 2016, you will not have to take the training again until 2018.

  • Step 8: Completion

All certifications must be completed by the Wednesday before your camp begins. A final list of confirmed volunteers and their status will be regularly emailed to the volunteer camp director. This allows time for the director to follow up with anyone still outstanding. All volunteers must have completed all steps satisfactorily before going to camp. Any director who allows an uncertified volunteer to participate in anyway at the camp will not be invited back to direct camp the following year. Allowing uncertified personnel to interact with campers creates a potentially unsafe camp and opens the camps and conferences to legal liabilities.

  • Begin Your Volunteer Application:

Volunteer Registration for the 2017 Camping Season opens March 15, 2017.

Applications can only be successfully submitted on a desktop.
